We offer:

What is the difference between a psychiatrist and a psychologist?
A psychiatrist is a medical doctor (MD) who specializes in diagnosing and treating mental health conditions. Psychiatrists can prescribe medications and integrate medical, biological, and psychological approaches to care.
A psychologist typically provides psychotherapy and behavioral interventions but does not prescribe medication (with rare exceptions in certain states).
At Hearthstone, we focus on thoughtful psychiatric evaluation, medication management when appropriate, and collaborative care planning.
Do you prescribe controlled medications?
When clinically appropriate, we may prescribe controlled medications. These decisions are made carefully and on an individual basis.
We do not provide addiction medicine services (including Suboxone or methadone treatment).
Do you offer therapy?
We provide medication management and may incorporate supportive or therapeutic elements into visits. If you require structured psychotherapy (CBT, DBT, trauma-focused therapy, etc.), we may coordinate care with trusted therapists in the community.

We aim to respond to portal messages within one business day (excluding weekends and holidays).

This depends on your diagnosis and treatment plan.
- During medication adjustments: typically every 2–6 weeks
- Once stable: typically every 3 months
- Follow-up frequency may vary based on clinical needs
Your provider will individualize your follow-up schedule.
